We’re delighted to announce that the winner of our Go Global Berlin competition, sponsored by Start Up Loans, is glamorous street wear brand VINTAGE LICKS, founded by designer Lilly-Jo Cullen.
Lilly-Jo has won an all-expenses paid place on Enterprise Nation’s Go Global trade mission to Berlin in May.
From a start of trading vintage wears, to customising and re-working old gems, Vintage Licks evolved into its own brand with the help of a Start Up Loan in June 2015. Since launching, the brand has gone from strength to strength, selling to wholesale stockists as well as through their own online shop and marketplaces such as Asos Marketplace, Nylon Magazine Shop & SilkFred.
The competition was open to Fashion Angel Start Up Loan recipients, that had been trading for 12 months or over. We had an amazing response and it was a difficult task to choose a winner with so many strong entries. The quality of applications was validation of how a Start Up Loan and the specialist business support we offer, has helped so many fashion start-ups thrive.
Entries were judged by Alison Lewy, and Emma Jones, founder of Enterprise Nation.
They selected Vintage Licks as the winner, as loved the eye catching “Nineties Gone Glam” aesthetic and felt the label has good potential for the Berlin and wider German market.
On hearing that she’d won, Lilly-Jo said “Any trade mission of my own doing would have taken me more than a year to put together, now I’ve just won and all my business birthday’s have come at once!”
During the trade mission, Lilly-Jo will be introduced to key buyers, press and influencers in the Berlin market, as well as having the chance to sell Vintage Licks products in a pop up store. She will also receive additional business support and guidance from Fashion Angel founder Alison Lewy, who is joining the trip.
There are still a few places left – more information and booking at www.enterprisenation.com/goglobal.
